We are looking for a highly skilled Senior AWS Security Engineer to join our team on a 3-month contract to lead critical security initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

• AWS IAM Role Conversion
  • Lead the initiative to replace all AWS access keys with role-based access using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Audit existing AWS accounts to identify all instances of access key usage.
  • Develop and execute a detailed migration plan from access keys to IAM roles.
• Java Application Coordination
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to update Java applications that interact with AWS services.
  • Ensure Java applications are compatible with role-based authentication.
  • Coordinate code updates and deployments to minimize disruption.
• Security Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with AWS Fundamental Technical Review (FTR) requirements.
  • Implement AWS security best practices to meet and exceed industry standards.
  • Document security processes and policies for internal and external audits.
• Kubernetes Management
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes (K8s) clusters on AWS.
  • Implement security measures and best practices within Kubernetes environments.
  • Automate deployment and scaling processes using Kubernetes tools.

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS services, particularly AWS IAM.
• Strong understanding of AWS security best practices and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in Java programming and familiarity with AWS SDKs.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) in production environments.
• Experience with migrating applications from access keys to IAM roles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
